New Admissions:
Lots of Barred Owls- 6 in fact.
- 1 Barred Owl died due to head trauma from a Hit By Car
- 1 Barred Owl was euthanized due to a horrible radius/ulna fracture and both eyes that had retinal detachments from blunt trauma.
- 4 Barred Owls were hospitalized, one had surgery for a fractured ulna, one was found hanging from a bridge from fishing line with a hook embedded in its wing, and the other 2 were hit by cars and suffer from head trauma
Eastern Screech Owl- Hit by Car with an open humerus fracture- Euthanized on arrival
Eastern Screech Owl- Hit by car, Fractured radius and ulna in multiple locations in both bones; euthanized on arrival
Two (2) Sharp Shinned Hawks- both with multiple fractures, one at the humerus, and one at the wrist; both were euthanized. The wrist fracture was taken to surgery and was euthanized during surgery when the injury was so severe it was not fair to put the hawk through the pain of recovery.
Cooper's Hawk- Illegal activity with a shattered humerus from a gunshot- euthanized on arrival
Great Horned Owl- Emaciated- hospitalized
Red Shouldered Hawk- Hit by car with femur and pelvic fracture; euthanized on arrival
